One Home, Two Foundation Types, One Radon Solution

With a radon level of 6.0 pCi/L, these homeowners were ready to address the elevated radon in their home. But this wasn't a simple single-foundation installation.

The home included both a basement and an encapsulated crawl space, so our mitigation plan needed to address both areas.

We began with an extraction point through the basement floor near the laundry machines. We then continued the system into the crawl space and installed a second extraction point beneath the existing encapsulation barrier. This allowed the system to create depressurization beneath both portions of the home's foundation.

From there, the system exited through the foundation wall and was routed outside to terminate safely above the roofline.

The homeowners elected to complete their post-mitigation testing independently, so we don't have their final radon measurement.

Every home presents a different set of conditions. This installation demonstrates how a properly designed mitigation system can be adapted to address multiple foundation types while operating as one integrated system.
